Announcing the Closing of Garage Cafe

For the past 2.5 years, we've loved being a part of the Boneyfiddle community. So, it's a sad day that we're announcing the closing of Garage Cafe starting Wednesday, September 23rd.

We are hopeful that we can take everything we've learned, all of your suggestions, and our passion for modern, health-conscious food to create something even better in the future. Thank you for your support and we will keep you posted on future developments.

About Us

Garage Cafe specializes in modern, fast-casual dining with consideration toward gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and paleo diets. Offering soups, salads, sandwiches, burritos and more, we prepare every meal to order. Our family friendly menu includes a kids menu and many grease-free alternatives to traditional fast food. Dine in, carry out, and catering available.

Our industrial space was originally built in 1925. The building stretches from Second Street to Third and operated as an automobile showroom and garage under various names throughout the years including C. Saunders Showroom, L. C. Davis Showrooms, and Peerless City Motor Company. More recently, the building has been home to Detroit Transmission Service and then the Lewis Furniture Warehouse.

In 2011, we started a top to bottom exterior renovation. The following year, we undertook the massive interior renovation before finally opening our restaurant in March of 2013. Construction continued throughout the building which now houses our various building neighbors including several loft apartments, a children’s theater, elementary school, and manufacturing space.

We believe in investing in the Boneyfiddle Historic District and working in the community to help improve the quality of life for the residents of the Portsmouth, Ohio Area. We are excited to offer a different dining experience and a reason for more people to visit downtown.
